I would like to echo Phyllis Zimmer's concerns. Is it possible that after 30
years there are large groups of people who still do not understand the
contribution N.P.s are making to the health of our nation? Absolutely! And
one of the chief reason's why is that we care for a population with no
political clout. If we wish to be heard we must amplify our voice! There is
no better way to do that than to be a participating member of both state and
national Nurse practitioner organizations. Tell every officeholder who will listen about what you
do. Beyond that join groups that are committed to spreading the word; and tell
your patient's that if they value what you do, to tell their legislators.
There is nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come. Our time is NOW!
